Select indoor plants that can tolerate poor drainage, or grow in water or just select air plants that do not have to be watered. What ever the decision, provide for some kind of drainage.

Consider that there is limitation of space indoors. In choosing plants for your flower garden, the growth characteristics of the plant must be borne in mind. A plant that grows a big canopy may not be suitable to indoor flower gardens. Many people tend to choose creepers and climbers as they use space well when trellised.

Consider how you are going to take care of the plants. You should not have high maintenance cost plants in your flower garden. These are plants that require constant pest and disease control, moving about to sun and shade, pruning or guiding on to the trellis. These ones become a bother and take the fun out of indoor flower gardening.
